💸 Refund & Cancellation Policy

This Refund & Cancellation Policy outlines the terms and conditions for cancelling services or requesting a refund from Judge Web Design (“we,” “us,” “our”). Our goal is to deliver exceptional service and clear expectations at every stage of engagement.
By hiring us or using our services, you agree to this policy in full. If you have any concerns, please contact us before proceeding with payment.
1. Definitions
- Client: Any person or organization engaging Judge Web Design for services.
- Project-Based Services: Web design, branding, strategy, SEO campaigns, or similar services provided on a fixed-scope basis.
- Subscription-Based Services: Ongoing retainers such as website maintenance, SEO, marketing automation, or hosting plans.
2. General Policy Overview
We work on a consultative, customized basis, which means every project is tailored to the Client’s needs. As such, our work involves time, planning, intellectual capital, and fixed operational costs — and therefore, our refund options are limited and governed by the following provisions.
3. Project-Based Services
a) Deposits
- All deposits are non-refundable unless Judge Web Design cancels the project before work has begun.
- Deposits secure your spot in our workflow and cover initial planning, design time, or account setup.
b) Milestone or Stage Payments
- Payments made after delivery of any agreed milestone (e.g., wireframes, staging site, first draft, content planning) are non-refundable.
- If you choose to cancel after a phase has begun, you are still liable for payment of that stage in full.
c) Cancellation Before Project Start
If you cancel a project before any work has begun and within 5 days of paying the deposit:
- A partial refund may be considered on a case-by-case basis minus an administrative fee of £95.
- Work is considered “begun” once any of the following occur: creative planning, team allocation, design setup, or strategy consultation.
4. Subscription-Based or Ongoing Services
a) Notice of Cancellation
- Subscription services (maintenance, SEO, social media, etc.) require 14 days’ written notice prior to the next billing cycle.
- Cancellations must be sent to legal@judgewebdesign.com with clear identification of the account and service to be terminated.
b) No Partial Refunds
- We do not offer partial refunds for unused days or services within an active billing cycle.
- Cancellation stops renewal charges going forward but does not entitle the Client to a retroactive refund.
c) Minimum Term Agreements
- If your subscription includes a minimum commitment period (e.g., 3 or 6 months), early termination does not absolve you from payment of the full term unless otherwise negotiated in writing.
5. Refunds on Digital Products or Downloads
Any digital assets, templates, calculators, or documents sold through our platform are:
- Delivered electronically and considered non-returnable.
- Therefore, all sales of digital products are final and non-refundable, unless:
- The product was not delivered
- It was demonstrably defective or corrupted at the time of delivery
6. Failed Payments & Service Suspension
If an invoice remains unpaid beyond the due date:
- Services may be paused or suspended until the balance is settled.
- A reconnection or reactivation fee of £50 may apply.
- Interest may be charged at 5% per month on overdue balances in accordance with UK Late Payment of Commercial Debts Act 1998.
7. Our Right to Cancel
We reserve the right to cancel a contract or suspend service if:
- The Client breaches the Terms & Conditions
- The Client engages in unethical, abusive, or unlawful behavior
- The project becomes unfeasible due to unforeseen technical or legal issues
In such cases, we may offer a pro-rated refund for any work not delivered, at our sole discretion.
8. Dispute Resolution
Before pursuing formal complaint procedures, we ask that Clients contact us directly at legal@judgewebdesign.com to resolve any dissatisfaction amicably.
Should a resolution not be reached:
- Claims must be submitted in writing within 30 days of the disputed charge or issue
- We will respond within 10 business days
